Well Rolda is now on course for the building of our new Rolda Hospital and the brand new adoption centre, so much has been done in the last few weeks that it is difficult to keep up with the news.
Our adoption scheme is going well, and the Rolda shelter is still being kept very busy.
I have several sales lined up to raise much needed funds, we have been very fortunate to have had donations of food and medical supplies, we are now able to send over food which prior to ROMANIA joining the EU we were not able to so any food parcels would be gratefully received, there are still thousands of dogs hungry and on the street, as soon as the new adoption centre is build then we will be able to accomodate a lot more.
We hope soon to have Romanian dogs here in the UK details will follow these dogs have to have vaccinations and blood tests so we have a few weeks to wait yet.
Anyone interested please get in touch and I will be very pleased to help you.

Dogs for Adoption
Well at last they are here on our blog site, so many beautiful dogs homeless and unwanted, I hope that one of these dogs will take your eye and your heart and that you will adopt one, the adoption fees help to pay for their food and their veterinary treatment inoculations etc.
Things really are still very bad in Romania and we are always in need of help financially and now that Romania is in the EU we can send dog food if anyone could donate some , no matter how small every bit helps to feed a dog.
The next newsletter will be online here and on the ukanimalrights @yahoogroups.com
Best wishes Veronica ROLDA UK representative and fundraiser

ROLDA`s virtual Adoption center
Welcome to ROLDA`S virtual Adoption Center!
There are three sections of poor homeless animals that need you in order to have a better life!
These dogs are either from the streets- in ROLDA`s volunteers care- from our shelter, or still imprisoned in local dogs pound!
Read their stories to find out the tragedies they pass through.
Sponsor one of them and you’ll be kept informed about their situation and about ROLDA`s activity!
The 1st section: dogs & cats from ROLDA shelter.

ROLDA Dogs
Our dogs are healthy, trained, sterilized, and vaccinated, with veterinary certificate updated.
They can be happy, if they have full attention and are surrounded by love offered by an adoptive family.
Would you offer him/her a better chance?
Name – URSUAge – 4 months old
History- Found on streets, skin disease & a deep bleeding wound at left inferior leg.
Treated at the ROLDA shelter, now healthy & beautiful, with an insignificant disability at the leg with problems.
Vaccinated & with vet certificate. Ready to be adopted.

Name – LUS
History – Rescued from the local human hospital, when dogcatchers started to “clean up” the surrounding areas, he is an old boy (+7 years old) very friendly with humans & other dogs.
Name – CEZARAge 3 ½ months old
History – Hit by a car, leg amputated, after the car accident.
Completely recovered, thanks to generous sponsors who helped us cover his treatment costs!

Name – BILLA
History – Rescued from a big local supermarket garden in poor condition with general infection caused by an infected leg, this had to be amputated.
She adapted well to he new condition, became friendly with other dogs and humans.
She now runs and plays like every normal dog.
Would you give her a chance and adopt her?

Name – BEAUTY
History – ROLDA volunteers found me wandering alone on the streets, very, very skinny, hungry and frightened, and scared of people, cars and dogs.
They bought me to the shelter and did their best to help me recover.
After a period of time, seeing the care and love they gave me, they gained my trust.
Now I am neutered and well-fed.
I love to be around the people who saved me and play all day.
Name – CHARLES-ADOPTED
Name – MITICA
History – ROLDA received a phone call from a worried lady describing a dog fight and a very injured dog, almost dying.
Rescued from the company garden immediately taken to the vet where IV treatment was started, with two open fractures at both superior legs, with minimal chances to survive…he was the most ambitious dog I ever met.
After almost one month intensive treatment, one of his legs is back to normal, the other is improving considerably.
Name – WHITE SNOWHistory – Kind female dog, 8 + years old, found with her 7 puppies on a highway & saved by ROLDA volunteers. Her puppies were transported to USA and thanks to ARF; they have all new adoptive families.White snow cannot see with one eye, she is old and needs a special diet, but she is happy to live secure for the rest of her life, especially with the thought that her puppies will not die hit by a car or poisoned or beaten by a cruel human

Name – BELA
History – I lived all my life on the streets fighting to get food and something to use for a bed. I was having a hard time so when I arrived here it was great, food every day, my own cage and friends in the kennel.
Name COFFEEHistory – Brought to the local pound by a woman along with his three brothers, he was the only survivor (all the others died of contagious diseases).
One day he was playing as usual with his other friends and the next thing he knew was that his leg started hurting terribly.
Immediately seen by our vet, surgery was done on his leg & he will stay for a while in recovery, but he ill soon be ready to be adopted.

Name – BLACKY
History – Blacky somehow saved my life…On new years eve, I wanted to be alone with my thoughts, to think why Rolando is no longer with me, why life is punishing the good ones, to remember the good moments & the bad moments that I shared with the person that I recently lost & that I will love my whole life…
I started listening to our music, start crying, I drove faster & faster but because of the tears I wasn’t able to see the road anymore.
I stopped the car & when I opened the door, a black & beautiful dog, jumped in my car, on the right & started licking my face.
When I told my friends about what happened, one of them reminded me about a Hindu proverb that says: whenever someone is unhappy, God sends a dog,
And I think that this is actually happened that night…

Name – JADE – ADOPTED
Name – MERLIN – ADOPTED
Name – BOBITZA – ADOPTED
Name – PUP
History – Some bad people abandoned me in a box at the fence of the shelter.
I was very sick, because I had parvoviruses & I thought I was going to die.
Thanks to the medical treatment & to the love I received, I recovered & am now happy.
I like to eat a lot, play, & run with my friends.

Name – MUSTACIOSU – ADOPTED
Name – VLADHistory – I was saved by ROLDA team from a park where I was staying, where the flayers van came to catch me. I lived all my life on the streets fighting for food & a bed, having a hard time, so when I arrived here it was great, food-warm bed, room mates!!!
But after a while, looking for adventure, I started to jump over the fence in the evening, go to the city &return in the morning.
One day, I decided to put an end to my trips, when the flayers almost caught me with their wire. But I struggled and got away.
I ran back to the shelter & swore that I will never do this again.
I’d rather stay safe in the shelter.

Name – TULLY
History – Found in a trash dump in November.
He was starving & almost dead, his little bones sticking out…
He was scared but confident that somebody might give him a fair chance to live the life he deserves.
Tully is now at the ROLDA shelter, and will NEVER eat garbage again!!!
Name – MOSUAge – 6 years old neutered
I was living on the streets. I was skinny & no one was taking care of me. It was very hard to find something to eat from the garbage bins.
One day the flayers caught me and they wanted to kill me along with the other dogs.
They hit me in my mouth and made me bleed. It was a nightmare.
Now I’m well-fed, neutered, beautiful & happy, im also very tender & loving with people, even though some of them harmed me in the past.
Name – MAX – ADOPTEDROLDA Cats
2nd Section: Dogs “sheltered in the local pounds”
Name – PITU
History – I am currently living at the pound. One day some dogcatchers stuffed me and my friends into a box and brought me here.
They left us without water, food or any kind of care; we were all slated to be killed.
I watched other dogs get killed in front of me. I was very traumatized & sad.
I had a big injury in my ear that was infected.
When ROLDA`s friends started to help in the pound, they really saved us!Since I was treated, im happy & surrounded by plenty of love
Name – CIPIAge 4 years old
History – Like Cipi, there are many other dogs living with no hope for the next day.
Some good food & attention might change his life today…ADOPT HIM & you’ll change his life for as long as he lives.
Name – PIP & PENAge 4 months old, males
History – Found near their dead mother, rescued by the caretaker of the pound – Pip & Pen will be transferred to ROLDA shelter, until they will hopefully be adopted.
Name – AGDEZIAge 4 years old, male/neutered
History – Abandoned by is owner, when a baby appeared in his family… he is the sweetest boy, intelligent, full of energy, loyal and friendly both with dogs and cats. He wasn’t fortunate enough to be born in a safe place, where he would have been treasured the way he deserves!
Name – TONYHistory – I am living in a small crowded cage, where the municipality is keeping us without food or water. We are very crowded and we face an uncertain future. Some time ago, someone adopted me, but because I dug holes in his garden in order to hide my food, my new owner didn’t like me and brought me back to the shelter. I’m very friendly and I love to eat.
Name – CALUTZAge 5 years old
History – mix-greyhound, his name means ‘little horse’ in Romanian language. Calutz is a beautiful boy. He was caught by dogcatchers in Galatzi’s streets and dumped at the first local pound. Because of lack of veterinary assistance, and lack of nutritious food, he now needs lots of supplements (especially Ca) in his special diet. Calutz suffered from a bone illness and now is back legs are a little deformed, but this doesn’t cause him any pain. He is ready for a new chance to live a better and safer future.
Name – VULPOIAge 4 years
3rd Section: Homeless dogs from the streets, fed by ROLDA

Name – CESI
Age four years old, male/neutered
History – born on the streets, Cesi doesn’t know how a spoiled dog’s life can be. He has never stayed in warm beds, he has never tasted good quality foods, and he is afraid when a human wants to give him a hug!
He is a survivor, a little difficult with other strays, that he sometimes fights with. He would need an adoptive home to make is life easier!
